Amino Acids
Amino acids serve the body as components for bones, muscles and organs, and as building blocks for hormones and enzymes. In addition, they can act directly as messenger substances or as starting material thereof. The human body absorbs amino acids through the proteins in food, which are composed of 20 different amino acids. The proteinogenic amino acids are divided into three groups: essential, semi-essential and non-essential amino acids. Depending on age or physical condition, humans need different amounts of all proteinogenic amino acids to stay healthy and productive.
