ButyrEn provides ButyraGen™, a tributyrin complex composed of three molecules of butyrate attached to aglycerol backbone. After ingestion, tributyrin is hydrolyzed in the small intestine and colon torelease three butyrate molecules. The glycerol backbone is also converted to butyrate. As such,one molecule of tributyrin yields four molecules of butyrate, enabling even modest doses ofButyrEn™ to provide substantial amounts of butyrateNote: Food supplements should not be used as a substitute for a varied and balanced diet.
