FloraMyces™ contains 500 mg (or 10 billion viable cells at the time of manufacture) per dose (2 capsules) of the non-pathogenic yeast Saccharomyces boulardii. S. boulardii has probiotic activity. This strain does not require refrigeration, is able to survive gastric passage unharmed and is resistant to acid, bile and heat. The cell wall of S.boulardii yeast may also exhibit prebiotic properties by promoting the production of short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs), which are produced by the microbiota in the colon and are the preferred fuel source of intestinal cells. SCFAs have many important biochemical functions in the gut.Note: Food supplements should not be used as a substitute for a varied and balanced diet.
